The correct pronunciation of Qatar is "Devil's Asshole". That place sucks. Hard.

Girlscouts? Hmmm, I don't know... I think it's kinda dangerous to teach young girls self esteem and leadership skills.

Wife recently returned from New Orleans and insists on saying Naw-lins.
I grew up outside Houston (Hew-stin), and it has always been New Or-leans.
I blame Popeye's Chicken and Cajun chef's for spreading the nonsense.

Then there's the countries of Chili, and now T̶h̶e̶ Ukraine.

Well if you want to get technical, the proper way to say it would be The United States of North America, and when you say americans, you are including everyone North,Central and South. We must be bored at work, moaning about others peoples pronunciation lol.

The map killed me, thank you for the laughs hahahha.

The one that always gets me is this two names in Massachusetts, Worcester ( Wooostah) and there was another town which name I forgot, I am like... how the hell from Worcester goes to Wooostah ...

So I've heard. But then again, the guy I know who had to spend 18 months there was getting $200K/yr so it wasn't all bad.

My first wife was from New Orleans. Because of her and her attitude of saying it how it is spelled, I ended up being accustomed to Newallens.

What I can't get around is the lack of grammar skills of the people around me in this little ass stupid town I live in now in Texas... About half are Mexicans, and about half of those don't speak English of any sort. And 95% of all English speaking people here don't know the word "sell". When they try to say "I want to sell this", they say "I want to sale this". This bugs me so damn much... Every time I hear the Garth Brooks song "The River", I laugh through the entire song... To those of you that don't know, it's the song that goes "So I will sail my vessel till the river runs dry, like a bird upon the wind.... bla bla bla", anyway, I hate country, but this song cracks me up considering the lack of grammar going on in this shit hole and just imagining that everyone in this town is confused by the song.....

Problem is there are no strict pronunciation rules in English.
German is veryprecise in that, for instance.
So, there is a lot of room for interpretation.
With that being said, it really pisses me off when people asks me if I am Ai-thalian...Yeah, I was born in Ai-thalee...

One of my coworker is from Austria.... On a daily basis people ask her if she has seen kangaroo in the wild and / or if Sidney is a nice place to visit......

"nawlins" is right there with Frisco and Beantown as a sure sign of an outsider.
