    Public assistance is supposed to be a temporary way to give people a chance to recover their lives on their own. This includes unemployment benefits. It should never be a means for those receiving it to make a comfortable living. Therefore, I am opposed to any form of public assistance being spent on anything other than nutrition, necessary clothing, shelter, or basic transportation(preferably public transit).

    Sounds familiar. Political office was supposed to be temporary and those volunteering their services to the country were not meant to make a comfortable living doing it.
