If you just want a spacer lift for a Frontier, All Day Fab has a spacer kit for $150ish if I remember correctly. The aftermarket support isn't nearly as great as it is for the Tacoma but it's not bad.

Don't do spacers or blocks to lift man. Spend a few hundred more and do it right or just leave it stock right height. WAY too many horror stories from people who did them regarding unsafe handling, wrecking existing suspension components or both. If I bought a truck with spacers /blocks I'd drive it home immediately and remove them. Whatever you buy, don't do spacers or blocks.

BTW, you can get a set of Bilstein 5100's for the Tacoma that allow you three different height settings (0.75", 1.5" or 2.25") for less than $200 and the ride is as good or better than the factory offroad Bilstein struts. On my truck I have mine set at the middle setting with the TSB rear leafs (OEM add-a-leaf you can have done for free if you request it) for a slightly more aggressive stance and look. It's not what I would consider even lifted compared to most Tacomas that do suspension and I still think it looks pretty good...

They're perfectly fine if you don't plan on going offroad and just want the look within reason. Anything over 2.5" in the front on a Frontier and you start running into problems.

I don't go for looks, I go for function, and I wouldn't go over 2.5" anyway, don't need to roll the beast.

On the buying new, I'm not sure I can afford that big of a monthly payment, but I've heard financing on new is usually easier to come by.

Before you dive into a Frontier go take a Taco for a test drive, that is if you haven't tried one out yet.

I didn't have mine on long enough to get a decent baseline but I do seem to get better mileage than most Frontier owners but I also drive like a grandpa. I picked one up used for $200 that can't be opened unless the tailgate is down so I can lock the tailgate and have a little piece of mind that someone won't come by and won't pulling something out of the bed of my truck.

Trucks are more fuel efficient with the tailgate on. Without the tailgate a low pressure area develops behind the truck effectively increasing drag. The airflow becomes very disturbed without the tailgate. It actually runs smooth with the tailgate. One of the big manufactures just confirmed this, GMC I think (and mythbusters did years ago as well).

And here's Consumer Reports test. Covers and tailgates down hurt fuel economy.

Consider many dealers are having 0% financing.

Also on the fuel economy: I thought that it's been well debunked that taking the gate off or doing other things to the bed helps. The tailgate creates a bubble of stable air in the bed that helps aerodynamics in a counterintuitive way. The best way is the way the manufacturer designed it. Although maybe a full bed cover to make it more SUV like may help.

Take a look at the Top Gear episode where they take on the HiLux (euro name for the Tacoma)


They all but drop a nuke on it, and it keeps on going. Years later they still keep it in their show.

Yeah I'm pretty sure The Mythbusters have covered this a few different times and proven that the truck does fine without the mods and some mods actually made worse milage.
