DoD reported a female soldier went into an office with a loaded pistol and shot herself. No other injuries.

Well, obviously, women in the military should not be allowed to have access to firearms. They are just too dangerous to themselves, especially at that time of the month.

Make snarky comments like that if you want, but regardless she was a senior NCO service member who was obviously in distress. You have zero knowledge of what led to her decision to end her life.
Why do you think a massive armed response was required? She did not barricade herself with anyone else nor is it reported that she threatened anyone else. Mental health issues for service members deserve more thoughtful discussion than your PMS PTSD crap.
Who knows what demons she was fighting.
Not every nail is the same and doesn't need the same hammer.
