Here is a classic example of why these polls are junk. If you can vote repeatedly, then anyone with a few minutes can pound their view into the system. Even if you can't, all it takes is the poll going viral in either the left or right leaning "blog-o-sphere" with people posting, "Go vote here" to like minded people, the results skew.

I've seen both sides rush to "win" polls, I've even had the 'pleasure' of trying to prevent fraud and make it accurate. It just isn't possible unless you randomly select the pool.

TL;DR - Math is hard, take the results with a grain of sand.

Thats awesome. Looking at the pool results, wonder if they will report such a pathetic opinion. All F's and a D(have doubts whether he deserves a D).

Of course not; it's not news. As Hoosier said, the results are completely unscientific, and all you've done is skew the poll yourselves to reflect your point of view. If the prevailing political views of this board (and others like it which most likely have threads like this too) reflected anything close to the political views of the country, the poll wouldn't even exist, would it?

I've seen "liberal" threads where they "vote bomb" fox news polls ... "conservative" boards hitting polls about healthcare to try and push results.

The end result is these things are beyond worthless -- and even a technically advanced system to prevent re-voting won't solve it.

gave him pretty much all F's though I did give him a C for Iraq only with the stipulation that he really follows through with his plan to pull out and focus on Afgan, in regards to his speech at West Point.

Oh yeah, I know... I wasn't trying to imply that people on the left would do anything different

However, it did bring to mind the AOL 'poll' from just before the election that everyone as touting as proof that the 'msm' polls were all lies, which had McCain winning in EVERY state, usually by double digits.

I used to lurk a bit on PUMA boards and to see them all getting orgasmic over that poll was an evil delight.
