Default New scope zooms and focuses at the push of a button

US Special Forces' New Sniper Scope Works Like a Human Eye

Conventional sniper scopes may allow for superlatively long shots but they are far from perfect, requiring a time-consuming refocusing of the sights should the target (or shooter) have to move position. But with the new RAZAR scope from Sandia National Labs, that refocus is handled almost instantly with the push of a button.

Amazing technology, almost science fiction. Imagine the thermal imager they use it with!

Yes! Mount them to your rifle and you'll be ahead of the military by at least ten years!

Cameras have been autofocus for decades. What is taking the scope market so long?

Because they sell larger 'cameras' for $3,500+ that have about 1/32 the features and can't make them fast enough to meet demand. Oh, some have very good warranties.

If you watch the vid, this is a far different thing. Cameras will autofocus within the same plane of focus, the new tech is a zoom that is near instant.

Think the sniper rifle zoom in Halo.
