He has a waiting list a few weeks long.
My son just got one from him and scheduled another. I think Jon is booked into December depending on what day you need to have it done. A good tattoo is worth waiting for. Myself and several friends have more than one tattoo done by Jon.

Anyone who can do anything is probably booked at least a week or two out, someone who can draw a straight line is probably a couple months out.

Jons Custom Creations did mine. Jon, was a pleasure to work with and Jim knows him as well. My next tattoo will be by Cammi at Sanders Ink in foco. I have seen her work and like what she does.

Yes, his wife. Too many Jons so I left that out.

With the demand for ink from the board fairly consistent, maybe I should come out of retirement.

As someone else alluded to, anyone who can get you in that short notice (especially on a weekend) isn't someone you want putting permanent art on your body! If they don't have a waiting list, they aren't someone I would consider...

Right, I figure at least find a place I'd like the work done and make an appointment.

    Not true, not even.
Not every artist who is booked up 1-2 months out doesn't allow time for walk ins. The money is friday - sat night, OR if near a .mil base when the eagle shits. Walk ins on a friday & sat could bring you 2 -3x what an apt might. Some artist schedule their apt's after 5 week days or early on the weekends. This gives one the opportunity to grab that walk in clientele, who could become your next major work.
We at one time did apt only, which for some lost business since their apt never showed, while the rest of us had a 3 -4 hr wait for commercial work. It finally went to walk ins only (outside regulars) this way everyone had a chance to work, vs. waiting for an apt that never showed.
One of the artist would book her self solid when ever she could, that lasted 1 month as waiting 15 min past the set time was costing money while people were there Now.

I'd schedule my clients with a time that worked for both of us. They needed to come in on the weekend, no problem. They were also willing to work with me time wise.

You find an artist you feel comfortable with, like their portfolio and agree on price final design. I assure you, there's an apt set up for you. However do not walk in to a waiting room of people, get upset because the artist doesn't have time to draw up your shoulder cap while you wait.
