I'm sure some of us remember this picture. This is from a wheel falling off of an on coming vehicle with both vehicles moving at only 20-30 mph. This guy got knocked unconscious when the wheel hit him in the head. He actually regained consciousness with his vehicle still moving. Lucky it was a center shot and not more to the left. Can you imagine at highway speeds?

Several years ago, one of my customers was hit on her motorcycle by a tire and wheel that came loose from a semi that was headed the other direction on US 85 north of Castle Rock. She spent almost 3 months in the hospital, and it was 3 years before she could ride again.
