This is apparently how to celebrate New Years/Independence Day around Evans and Broadway.

Also, I'm going to keep these pictures forever so I can explain to roofing contractors why that giant hole they're pointing at is NOT hail damage.

It was a 9mm by the way.

Have you called channel 9 yet and raised the alarm that there are right wing militias shooting your roof?

Wow, nice post... I used to work at the Yellow Cab Co. in Phoenix, and the shop foreman had a hobby that involved collecting bullets and shell casings from the lot and the cabs.. (in South Phoenix, (Central & Mohave for those that know the area).. he had them lined up one side of his desk, and 1/3 of the way across the front.

Lots of people in that area liked to celebrate by firing rounds in the air...

Looks like they need a new roof anyhow, it appears the aggregate between the tabs in pic 3 is gone. And who has three tab anymore, that is so 1980's.

1980's would be T-lock... makes repairs nearly impossible.

my house used to have a T-lock roof.. little wind damage at one end and it was done... replace it all (not made at all since 2003)

Thanks, I like to collect all my interesting photos. I know other members have good stuff as well. Maybe we should start a photo thread like that.

There is at least one T-lock roof on every street in my neighborhood. I'd say more than 50% of the roofs I'm on are still 3-tab stuff. The dimensional laminate has been around for about 25 years now and I occasionally run into original laminate roofs that are just plain worn out from age and sun exposure. I've learned to judge a neighborhood by the roofs that are on the homes. Kind of like see what kind of cars are parked outside.

So many T-locks have been replaced over the years under the premise of "oh they don't make that shingle anymore and we can't match it" that there are warehouses full of T-lock shingles. You can repair T-lock by just removing a shingle to use as a template and cutting new shingles out of 90lb roll roofing. Maybe not ideal, but certainly serviceable.
