Attach bottom of gnome with a cable to a microswitch that would activate waterjets aimed at the area of the gnome and the most probable exit path. Miscreant pulls gnome and is promptly blasted by jets of ice-cold water.So now would be a good time to brainstorm on some non-lethal garden gnome booby trap ideas.
Paint the surface of the gnome with chili oil. Miscreant pulls gnome, gets chili oil on hands and suffers the consequences the next time he touches his face near his eyes or mouth.
