Never having used ( or even seen a real) grenade, is 3.5 seconds the normal delay? How accurate is that (do some go off at maybe 2.5 or 3 seconds?)

So if you are in a 1 or 2 grenade situation and you toss your base grenade, are you then left with 1 or 2 stackables and no way to use them? I guess my thought being that not everything is a 3 grenade solution, and at some point are you carrying something that is offensively worthless because it doesn't have a detonation device, but still potentially dangerous if it takes a hit from enemy fire? Or equally as important, more worthless weight to carry around?

You and I are on the same wavelength.

Unless you have fuses with pins and spoons you can screw onto these things to make them into 'base grenades', then it's really not very useful.

Some of the people they would issue this to would have a hard time stacking three duplo bricks correctly. Simple wins the day every time.

(No, I'm not saying you (vet) would have problems stacking three bricks, but come on... you've seen those special cases...)

"Served" might be too strong a word, but I have served with those of whom you speak. They didn't make it out of BT or AIT.
