Yes and No. It's an STI 2011 that has a billet steel frame with a polymer, double stack grip. This one has a 4" bull barrel. I had to have a custom leather IWB holster made for it as most holsters for 2011's are for competition and not CCW.

I don't personally own one, but you'll probably have to do something with the rear sights to make it a bit more carry & nighttime friendly. I think it's a reasonable choice.

Big E3 mentioned Kahr's, so I'll chime in with this:

My best friends wife carries a CW9 EVERYWHERE she goes no matter how she's dressed. She practices with it often & says it holds up excellent to regular use and shoots quite accurately, but is small and lightweight enough for CCW. It's not one of the pricier guns so she isn't as worried about scratches or other blems from regular carry. She especially likes the size and weight as it carries well whether she's in jeans, slacks, or a dress. I've shot it and was surprisingly impressed to the point that I've considered one for myself.

Commander length 1911 are good carry options and what I typically carry year round. I picked up a Colt Defender in 9mm, which I'm breaking in and might become my new primary carry, but neither are lightweight options.
