This brings up a question, just asking. I have a CCW, if something happens and you find yourself with a guy wanting to fight you, do you pull your gun or fight? I have been in this situation and chose to fight like the old days. If someone is unarmed why pull a weapon?

I think what GK is trying to say is that becoming engaged in that situation could realistically, at a minimum, result in an arrest up to and including having that out of control officer shoot you dead. Corporal Casebolt appeared to be the senior officer on site and the other officers, while not out of control, were following his lead. Other than complying with his demands, any other behavior by anyone engaged would have not been good for that individual. Had I been there, I would have first sought to extricate any family members from the situation, if possible, and from a safe distance I would have remained to be the best witness I possibly could and pursue complaints or other courses of action after the fact. Anything else would put you into a no-win situation.
He was clearly out of control and over reacted. The draw was a good draw though, it stopped what COUlD have become a very bad situation. Notice he didn't actually point the weapon at anyone.

If that was your wife he was man handling, what then? I know (and actually want to agree) with what you are saying but you can't always extricate your loved ones. You can't always wait till its safe. Complaints don't help when your wife is paralyzed or dead because a bad cop is man handling somebody out of anger or worse. If you can, back off, but if that were my daughter, I don't know that I could stand by and watch. Then you would have a dead father protecting his family on video with cops trying to tow the thin blue line? Great we all lose... Or cops and PD's can stop looking at everyone as a nail to their hammer. We are the ones you (the general you) are suposed to be protecting.

I walk away if possible. Engaging is the last alternative, you're missing a few steps in the process. Choosing to go hands on with someone when you have a ccw is always a bad idea in my opinion, what's happens IF you lose control of your weapon?

It was a fight, a plain ol fight. Yes if you lose it could be bad, I agree. But not every person is out to murder. Sometimes things happen and shooting someone is not always an option, nor is running away.

If if that was your daughter would you have let her continue to involve herself in an already out of control situation? If that was me, my dad would have beat my ass for acting like that, he would have put me on the ground before the cop could get a second sentence out of his mouth.

Here's another perspective and a bit more info on what happened before the video started:
    http://theconservativetreehouse.com/...iasco-part-ii/

The girls were told to leave the area.
The girl taken down decided not to leave and instead to run her mouth.
The cop did NOT "beat" the girl.
The two individuals began to rush the cop and he kept them from doing so by drawing his gun.

There was a whole lot that took place before that video started.
No one was injured by the cops that were called in.
That cop's career is over due to the morons on the left.

This is just another example of the escalating lawlessness and cop bashing BS that will continue until martial law is called for. People will be begging for it before too long.

Curious, what do you Consider The Old days?
Height, weight, able or disabled. You sound more like this is a dick measuring contest than a discussion of what happened in TX.

Myself it's all about deescalating / diffusing the situation than being involved in a possibly felony, the ER or morgue. I gather from this post of yours, you HAD TO PROVE something.
1 more item, in a fight there's no such thing as fair.

Yeah, there are no easy answers in this case.

Back to the OP's subject line, have there been rumblings of possible riots yet? I haven't heard anything along this line. But then, since there is a media twist claiming this response was racial, Rev Al could still go down there and agitate folks, combined with Soros group that buses in protestors & we could likely see more wag the dog activity.

KEEP THE DAMN TRUTH OUT OF THIS YOU HEAR ME, KEEP IT OUT!

IMO there's a contingent of damn the cops no matter what. You know those who still believe HANDS UP DON'T SHOOT, IS the Truth

Bunny had a bad interaction with a LE this evening. Based on what he said happened, I would have been down at what ever district this was in, filling out a complaint.
