    Default Micro red dot

I'm looking into getting a micro red dot to mount on an offset mount call me lazy but I prefer a red dot to irons when it comes to offset sights I was considering a bushnell first strike I just don't like the fact there is no on off switch I know the ncstar has a on off switch but horrible reviews I don't want to spend over 150 on the optic since it won't be used too often any other options I would appreciate the advice

So after looking at the primary arms stuff seems to have the same issue with it not being able to be used at night it adjust the brightness on its own and shuts off when the cover is put on

I've got a couple of these on .22s. They've worked really well for that purpose. I wouldn't trust them on a fighting/home defense rifle but if it's on a gun where the worst you suffer is a little irritation because your optic shuts down on you, they'd be fine.

I will say, they are dreaming on the 50k hour battery life. Shut it off when you're done for the day.

It's a bit over your $150 cap but there are sales on them frequently.

Quality red dot and 150.00 do not go together. I have read most of your posts since you have joined and see that you are starting in the custom AR world just like we all have by asking questions.

Definitely listen to the advice you get on parts from the lurkers around here as it will save you tons of headaches and money in the long run. The boys are correct with their suggestions imo and PA or Burris is the way to go within your budget. Anything that has NCSTAR on it steer clear from as well.

The Sparc II from Vortex has a pretty good string of reviews, including a great write up in the latest issue of Recoil. I just picked one up and installed on my SBR. Still need to zero but it seems a solid piece.

A little bigger than the PA micro but not as big as a full size unit.

I'd agree to go with the PA's or spring some extra cash for the Fast Fire.
