A guy on a bike forum I hang out on is helping sell off the stuff of a buddy of his, who friggin' died from a black widow spider bite! I have no love for the creepy little fuckers either.

That's what I was thinking. I was thinking it had 6 and one was either missing or next to the other , which would make it an insect imitating a spider. Kinda like the fly that imitates a bee. I see those a few times every year.

Orb weavers are good guys and build some of the coolest web patterns. Unfortunately they are usually in door ways about face high.

ETA: For the record, and you can label me as " narrow-minded" for this, but I hate ALL spiders. (Was bit by a brown recluse when I was a toddler - too bad it wasn't radioactive)
Thats probably what it is. I did some looking at orb weavers last night due to the web but didn't find the hentz's. Lots of spiders running around down here, thankfully I haven't run into a black widow or brown recluse.

For us out here in the country. The Wolf spiders and Orb weavers are common outdoors. Have yet to see confirmed Brown Recluse but I do see Black Widow occasionally in dark corners of crawl space and dusty dark corners of the shop. They get smooshed and the harmless spiders get left alone.

Conditions must be right for spiders this year. I'm seeing a lot more than usual.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.
