"He was treated for a mental illness"... This stuff is getting real serious for the law abiding gun owner. 15 years ago the "professionals" had 10% of the population as having a mental illness, today they have it at 25%. Why the increase ??? I don't know. Could be a name is given to every little foible. Or it could be a "tin hat" conspiracy to label as many citizens as they can with a "mental illness".

What this means is, 1 out of 4 people on this board has a mental illness, 1 in 4 police officers, 1 in 4 military officers, 1 in 4 billionaires and on and on.

The pros use the DSM ( Diagnostic Statistical Manual) I believe it is now DSM 5. Homosexuality was a mental illness then in 1971 all of a sudden it wasn't anymore. Things change, not always for the better and most of us don't know it....

Denied a concealed carry permit. Curious as to if he passed a BGC to get this firearm recently.

He bought the gun legally in February 2014, after passing a background check...like so many other people who then go on to commit murders.

Background checks do not stop criminals who don't buy through an FFL or people who haven't committed their crimes yet. Background checks are not an effective tool at preventing crimes.

Is anyone suggesting that this murderer did not conceal his handgun (a Hi-Point in .40 S&W) because he was denied a concealed carry permit a few years ago? Because murderers don't care about how many laws they break.

    Be safe.

No! More laws are needed! That way he'll stop and think "I was going to kill a ton of people, but these new laws? I don't want to break those."
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.
