<shrug> Well, he's doing something he believes in rather than just mouth platitudes so I'll give him credit for that. Nothing will happen overnight so the real test will be if his company survives or even prospers for 3, 5, 10 years with this philosophy. If it does, more power to him. In the meantime, his best, most productive employees seem to want to depart for pastures where they will be rewarded for putting forth more effort.
Then again, just how much initiative do they need in a credit card processing company?
Yhea, at least he's doing it with HIS money rather than with OUR money, which is what government regulations ultimately boil down to.

Good bump. I'm confused by this part.
In a statement, Democratic Gov. Kate Brown said the phase-in approach provides “a path forward – so working families can catch up, and businesses have time to plan for the increase.”Activists who pushed for the minimum wage increase don’t see a good reason to give families and businesses that sort of time.
What do working families need time to adjust for a wage increase for? Does the article mean family run businesses?
"There are no finger prints under water."
Minimum wage is a starting block, not the finish line. I wish these crying hippies would realize that. But noooooooooo. Our govt is telling them it's just dandy to stick with the min wage jobs as a life choice. Min wage goes up, rents, products, services are forced to go up and they are stuck in the exact same financial situation. So sad that people and law makers can't understand simple economics.
Well with all the free college that's being promised by the Democratic 2016 hopefuls, there shouldn't be any excuse for every minimum wage earning worker not to go get their masters![]()
I'm curious though, if they start giving that shit away will all us "rich" middle class types who took out loans or paid for college get refunds or our loans forgiven? (I am being sarcastic, obviously.....they'll probably increase my loan interest to make up for the loss of business)
Well "everyone has a right to a living wage."
Maybe there's a silver lining to this: less people paying into the whole higher education scam.*
* I'm referring to the degrees that saddle students with a lot of debt yet don't result in a good career. Clearly college education has its place and all degrees can be useful to certain people. But too many people got sold a bill of goods and the result is the enrichment of elitist leftists.

I've been wondering the same thing. 2029 can't come soon enough. I'll 49 and student loans will be paid off. Unless they give the free tuition crap. And if they happen to pass free College and not pay off our loans- we raise a fuss about being punished for being an adult. Lol
