oh, haha... bottom line: due to a descision made by the Supreme Court years ago, the Obamacare thing is unconstitutional and cannot legally be mandatory.

Thank you. I have trouble understanding lawyer-speak.

The old ruling will help but judges that ignor the constition will feel no obligation to follow any prior rulings. They courts can also rule that one part is unconstitional and leave the rest standing. If they rule that the mandatory purchase part is a no-go they can leave the rest alone. That will just accelerate the end of nongovernment health care, not stop it.

I wish ALL regulations and laws had to be written in plain language and includ the whole law. Any amendments should include the orginal and changed language.

They can say what they like, but one congress cannot bind a later congress. Only the constitution can do that.

At best it can be taken to mean that THIS 111th Congress cannot repeal it, but the next congress (which starts in January 2011) and any later one can.

Frankly that's what I expect to happen, and I think that's by design.

The purpose of this health care law is to implode the health insurance industry forcing the government to step in and nationalize the industry and bam, overnight and without voting for it we'll get socialized medicine. Once the people are dependent on the state for their very lives you'll never see small government, pro-liberty constitutionalists in power again. Ever. Period.

Folks I think we have to face the fact that Obama has already "fundamentally transformed this country" beyond the point of no return and the only way to roll this crap back is with some sort of "reset button" (be that a Constitutional Convention or a dissolution of the union ... a con-con will end up making things worse since the progressives will write all sorts of new positive rights and eliminate many rights related to liberty, and secession and/or dissolution isn't going to go any smoother or peacefully than it did last time it was tried).

I don't know, I think certain parts (San Francisco, Hollyweird, DC, NYC, etc.) started stinking a long time ago ...
