    Default Pick up canopy

    Hey guys,

I want to purchase a canopy/topper for my pick up. I'm looking for the best brand out there, I want one that will last a long time, have no issues, keeps my stuff safe, has a good locking system that won't be easy to defeat. Cost is not a factor here, I want to purchase one time only, not have to replace it every 4-5 years.

Please base your answers on real life experiences. I also need a recommendation of where to purchase.

    Thanks,

Bought a Leer topper for my Nissan Titan, had the back "frameless" so it was a full glass back with a bubble seal and 1 piece you turn to open/lock. Was a great Topper, no issues even after I dropped it about 4' onto the ground. Had that topper for 3 years before I sold the truck

Bought another leer topper for my F150 again with the frameless. Only issue was the side window seals were not properly seated so it leaked a little. Once I found it, and out the problem, I took a key and seated the seal much better and no issue yet. Had it for almost a year now.

My Nissan didn't have the carpet liner, my F150 does...... I HIGHLY recommend it. It was an extra $150, but is a lot cleaner look, and you don't have to worry about fiberglass poking your skull when you get inside under it.

Bought the Nissan's topper from Cap-It in Fort Collins. Good company, good prices. Being closer to Denver, you have many more options. just my .02

Not sure what you hope to secure back there but I doubt there are many toppers out there that can't be easily broken into with a standard flat blade screwdriver.

    yep.^

I had a full fiberglass (leer i think), with framed rear hatch. Was great. Never had an issue, I like the fiberglass ones because they added some weight to the rear of the truck. Security was not a feature though. I liked the above cab height too, a lot easier to get stuff in and out. I mounted a small truck toolbox between the bed rails, fits inside under the topper - better security, can lockup tools and such.

Look for a "commercial" type, electrical/plumbing contractor type, it will have more features for security. These will probably be all metal too.

I bought two or three over the years from these folks:

Do you recall what you paid for it? I am looking for one for my Titan.

When you say "canopy" are you referring to more of a fabric type, like something made from canvas? I believe at least one member here has a set-up like that.

Ditto on AA Toppers, on Broadway between Bellevue and Littleton Blvd. Good stuff!

AA toppers is where I have bought my last 2 Snugtop. They also installed autolocks for tailgate and rear window. I just use the trucks keyfob.
