Default Did I screw up already?

I have my Trust in place. We are pursuing building a SBR. I just purchased a 16" rifle we are going to use as the project rifle.
I purchased this rifle in my name. Should I have purchased the rifle in the name of the Trust? Now I need to re-transfer the rifle from me personally to the Trust?

Yes you are correct, I am a little foggy on the whole process.

Yes. The trust is Legally a different entity, of which you're the trustee.

    Damn it. Figures...
Can my kitchen table FFL transfer the 16" rifle from me to my trust? Or is it more complicated than that?

    Be gentle with me.

You'll need an official FFL transfer from you to the Trust ($15-$50) + $7 background check. Thank you State of Colorado

anybody can purchase a rifle and have it listed under the trust after going through the SBR process. The rifle doesn't need to be purchased by the trust. there's no need to transfer it from you to a trust just because you intend to make it a SBR. It will be added to the trust or schedule A after getting the tax stamp and engraving it. As the trustee, you can add or take stuff away at will.

maybe im wrong, but I haven't had any issues with my form 1's and trust...
check with an NFA dealer or call the ATF for a definitive answer.

    Not at all.
We've been over this a few times. The trust is a different entity. Yes, you're the trustee. However the trust doesn't own the original firearm. ALL You get from the ATF is an approval for the reconfigured gun. SO............. John Doe (individual) must transfer approved item to John Dow TRUST. IF the OP applied as an individual, then no need for that other BGC.

Per your 4473 that you completed - Section A, Question 1:

When the buyer of a firearm is a corporation, company, association, partnership, or other such business entity, an officer authorized to act on behalf of the business must complete Section A of the form with his or her personal information, sign Section A, and attach a written statement, executed under penalties of perjury stating: (A) the firearm is being acquired for the use of and will be the property of that business entity and (B) the name and address of that business entity.

So just to be clear, did you or did you not follow the above requirement?
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

I know when buying something he has in stock or doing a transfer Noah has an additional form he has me sign for the items I'm putting into my Trust for NFA purposes. Check with your FFL.
