Well cool. I insure all my stuff with USAA. Thanks for the response, although off topic.

What a pain in the neck but at least she stopped and admitted to it.

Hope everything gets covered with minimal headache.

Sucks you have to park on the street. I go out of my way not to do it for this very reason. Fortunately i have a big enough driveway. I live on a corner and see cars miss the turn everytime we get a bit of snow. On the rare occasion I do park on the street, I do it down the block away from the corner.

Well went in this morning to McDonald Collision Center off South Park near Broadway and Mineral. Progressive has an office there. Got me in right away and in a rental, tomorrow I'll get the info on how long it'll be.

Seriously.. if you ever question your insurance company when dealing with them. Should it be just adding something to the policy or asking questions and you don't feel as if your best interest is being covered... shop around. I'll add a standard disclaimer that you should carry more than state required minimums on your vehicles. In reality 250/500k should be minimum coverage, then there would be a lot less problems.

Currently I'm dealing w/ USAA on a lady bumping into the ass end of my explorer. They're a bit slow on the call backs, but they called me before I had to call them. Nationwide on my end has been the same.. very proactive.

I do love their reaction when I tell them no the statement can not be recorded and we are ONLY talking about property damage.

Yep, adjusters are trained to take recorded statements, so when you tell them "no," they don't know what to do/say.

My son had to sue both AF (ours) and Progressive (theirs) on a bad faith claim. When you have collectors calling you to pay bills the insurance carrier should take care of, something's wrong.

Several days in ICU, 2 weeks in post op surgery, and a month in-patient at Craig rehab isn't chump change either.

Regarding hit and run, some years ago, I lived at a corner and had an old Chevy 3/4tr ton parked on the street. Some one came around the corner and hit it while we were out of town.

Came back to find the ass end of the pickup driven up on the curb about 3 feet from where I parked it. They had hit just the corner, mostly on the steel liftgate. dent the size of your hand and a broken taillight. But I found Nissan Frontier frontend parts scattered all over. I bought a new taillight for $40 and guessed the Nissan owning scumbag had 5-6 grand of damage at least.

I had Progressive once, NEVER AGAIN! I slid into cross traffic in bad weather and got T-boned. Had full coverage including rental. I knew the car was totaled as soon as it happened. I got my rental the next day, the car was towed to some yard. After a few days, I get a call from the yard wanting payment for towing and storage so I had them tow it to my house. The car sat in my driveway for about 2 months before an adjuster came out to look at it. During this time, every few days I would get a call from Enterprise Car Rental saying they either want money or they want their car back!

At this point I already have a new (used) car picked out at the Dodge dealership and they have it parked inside on hold for me. I told them I was just waiting on the Insurance company to cut me a check so I could take the new car home. Another two months goes by before they finally tow the car from my driveway and haul it to some scrap yard. Meanwhile, I'm having to call the Insurance company every couple of days to get them to pay more money for my rental. At one point the guy says to me "we'll, do you HAVE to have a rental car?" I about lost it at that moment.

Another month goes by and I finally get payed, go get my new car, return the rental and all is done.....or so I thought. Started getting phone calls from the finance company about the wrecked car threatening to repo it cause they haven't received payments! That was fun trying to convince them it was totaled and hauled off to some junkyard!

So needless to say, you couldn't pay me enough to ever have Progressive again!

Spending time at Craig is never a 'good' thing.. Sorry to hear about it. Insurance companies are generally sleazier than the lawyers.
