    Yeah... not true any more.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office (which is well known for not issuing any CCW permits, among other anti-Liberty things) have a local reputation of pulling people over and then fabricating a probable cause and finding some bullshit thing to write you up for, just to keep the revenue flowing. These are the guys that give the rest of law enforcement a bad name.
    My Feedback

"When law and morality contradict each other, the citizen has the cruel alternative of either losing his moral sense or losing his respect for the law." -Frederic Bastiat

"I am a conservative. Quite possibly I am on the losing side; often I think so. Yet, out of a curious perversity I had rather lose with Socrates, let us say, than win with Lenin."

    Born in CA.
Removed myself from CA in 1992.
Have NO DESIRE to go back. Not even a little.
Left my parents and inlaws there. Still no desire to go back, they can fly or drive here to visit if need be.

The whole excuse by CA folks that "I can't leave because all my family and my wife's family is here" is pathetic.

Kinda true... I got pulled over in SoCal with an acquaintance while we were motorcycling (sportbikes, at about 20mph > the limit) and my acquaintance adopted the tough-guy-F-cops attitude, I adoped the "yes, sir!" polite attitude. Acquaintance got the $300 ticket, I got off with a warning. The cop hadn't even talked to us separately.
