I'm not defending the specific people you're referring to, but when you join and see that all of the active threads are dominated by the same ~20 people, it's a bit intimidating.

I have so many posts because it's just the internet and I'll say or ask whatever I want whether anyone else likes it or not. Basically, I'm the guy that shows up with no introduction and entrenches himself in the community as a recognized member through blunt force of posts. On rare occasions, I provide useful info if I can.
