    Default Cerakote.

    Had a nice day yesterday so I grabbed a few items and got them coated. Just your basic black. Click image for larger version.

    I've been thinking about setting up to do it. Build an oven, etc pick up a media blaster, which I've been wanting anyway, couple other items and go to town.

    Jerry are you baking it or just using the air dry version?

    I have a media blaster sitting here Look on CL for someone dumping an electric oven cheap, there's a fair amount of them.

    I have an oven I built almost 20 years ago for this.

    I used some spray duracoat to color a couple receivers yesterday. It looks like total shit but hey, it's a beater gun anyway. Guess I should hand it to you next time...

    So if you wanted the front sight base a different color than the barrel do you need to remove it and ceracoat the barrel then reinstall the FSB or ill the layer of ceracoat not allow for you to get the FSB back on without scratching the newly coated barrel up?

    On a FSB I would tape and do a second color after a tack bake. CeraKote is thin but not interference thin.
