A little early in the year for bass, perch. The cats hit all year but not many of them in chatfield. I think the Walleye's are still spawning and the crappie should be moving in around the boat docks to spawn soon. Try a white curly tailed jig from the inlet (around the bridge) about 3" long. Bounce that across the bottom and you should have great luck. I think the rainbows have already spawned there, but you might catch a few running late.. that's my 2 cents..

I used to fish Chatfield a lot. One day I found a dead catfish on shore. Three feet long with a mouth big enough to swallow a football. That got me so excited I got all rigged up for catfish, smelly bait and all. My brother and I went out that night (spooky) and fished the inlet channel of the main lake, southwest side. Nothing and nothing all night. So, I'm pretty sure there are some monsters in there. You just got to find the right spot.

Pineapples are good for fishing. Better than dynamite, don't need to tie 'em to a rock.
