I'd say so. He basically said he engaged in inappropriate behavior and when confronted about it, he lied.

He looks and sounds strange. Like he's under duress. Or like he just got figuratively kicked in the balls.

I can't get the damn video to play. But from what I've read of the transcripts he's admitted to inappropriate behavior and lying about it. It's a shame...he had a bright future.

Turns out I know a guy very familiar with the going-ons around the sheriff's office. He says it's all true. I have no reason not to believe him. What a shame.

His behavior has been well known in the local LE community for years. Was just a matter of time.
Yes, he's been married since '86 with two 20something chilldren and a couple of grandkids.

Maketa, Presley and a former commander indicted yesterday in a laundry list of charges including Extortion, Witness Tampering and Kidnapping.

He seemed like such an awesome sheriff to those of us that elected him. Sad ending to what appeared to be a great career.

And also sad to see San Agustin swept up in this mess. He was involved heavily in some of the Columbine HS "failure analysis" and was sent to Boulder along with Lou Smit when the Boulder police asked for help with the JonBenet Ramsey case.

(They both walked away form the case when they realized the the Boulder police had already settled upon the father as the murderer and weren't going to change their minds despite a ton of evidence to the contrary. Now THERE are some police that should be locked up.)
