I'm throwing a softball there in case it's not obvious.

I'd say more like there's no real "panic" because people are beginning to realize that Lame Duck Obama can 'demand' anything he wants from Congress and Congress is just going to tell him to sh!t in one hand and demand in the other and see which one fills up first. And by the time Hillary gets elected this most recent shooting will be a distant memory.

I think any banning in the future is going to happen at the state, not federal, level.

Big difference here as it applies to JAX because they voluntarily pulled ALL scary items from their shelves in a de facto 'assault weapons ban' and forfeited our rights to own any of it w/o any pressure from the .gov. Now, if they had simply raised their prices & taken advantage of capitalism's most fundamental aspect of supply v demand I wouldn't have a problem. But they didn't. And I do.

These are not the same thing and you're comparing apples to aardvarks.

Don't think JAX forfeited your rights to own anything...
I was just thinking how much I missed the JAX in Lafayette today. Great fishing, camping, kayaking, and hiking boot sections. They were all over the place with ammo pricing, sometimes great deals, sometimes triple going rate. I never approached the gun counter as it looked to be as well stocked as the back corner of my safe. They were a great outdoors shop that had a bit of everything all way down to some great grilling and smoking accessories. Why must they be crucified on this forum all the time just because they didn't carry or want to be known as a "tactical scary black gun store"? They sold kids toys, but didn't stock Barbie dolls on their shelves, but I don't see anybody gettin pissed about that.

I don't think you understand what it is they did based on what you're saying. It has nothing to do with pricing. Do some searching as this has been covered ad nauseam already.

    Yeah, this.

A private business owner has the "right" to sell (or not sell) whatever he/she wants to within the law.

It doesn't impact your "rights" at all when someone voluntarily chooses not to sell an item, regardless of the reason.

Don't like it? Then YOU have the "right" to shop somewhere else.

This is why a lot of us don't shop there. Wheel guns and pistols with -10 capacity are ok, but glocks are bad isn't an attitude that I want in a gun store. Jax used to be a mil surp store. I hope jax stops selling Birkenstocks because they cause lesbianism. Then there will be two groups of people who avoid the place.

It's called principle. As they have the right to not sell something . I have the right to not patronize them.

They are however hypocrites (SURPRISE) regarding their stance on firearms. Jax touts their ALL INCLUSIVENESS asking people to respect another lifestyle.

Once again, Tolerance & Diversity, providing it's something they agree with.

I like SGammo and will continue to support them when prices are where they should be.

As far as JAX, never been in one and won't go in one due to their decision to remove the scary items. Their choice and the fact that they are opening a new store says all you need about the attitude towards guns for the majority.

Everytime I go to JAX it is filled with dreadlock hippies and northface wearing hipsters. Gun and ammo prices are stupid expensive. The only thing that interests me is they have a huge selection of mill surplus stuff.
    Don't be stupid!!!!!
