    Some labs have shown about 80% of raccoons are carriers for that parasite that they shit out. I'm not sure what the ratio is in Colorado, but there is regular testing in a lot of areas. As long as you don't eat raccoon poop, there is no worries.

    If you do eat raccoon poop though, it can on occasion infect the brain and they go chomping away at your grey matter at amazing speed. But who is going to eat a raccoon crunchy bar right?

    If you have very young-uns in an area where raccoon poop, don't let them eat dirt. The rare brain infections especially can have them blind within something like 48 hours, and vegetative not long after IIRC, and there isn't any reversal.

    The racoon hasn't been back in the window wells, but I have seen it & it's two siblings in my back yard and in the green belt behind my house a couple of times.
