No one is suggesting (certainly not me anyway) that America or the American people need to accept illegals in the country. This is America, not an asylum. No one has the RIGHT to move here. The people who are here illegally aren't entitled to anything. Since I'm going to go ahead and assume that any ambiguous addressing of "anyone who" is referring to me, I'll go ahead and reassure you that I don't fault you (Bailey) or anyone else for thinking that illegals shouldn't be allowed to be here. Guess what? They shouldn't.
I have a strong suspicion, that like most things in life, the outspoken minority of illegal jackasses that brag about government checks and march their Mexican flags around, and partake in behavior like El Huero described are actually a minority within the minority.
Just like many people think that every gay person is a flaming, outspoken, dramatic queen, because that is what grabs media attention with parades and what not.
Just like non-gun owners look to backwards and back woods militia groups, or cracked criminals who go on shooting sprees, and apply that behavior to all gun owners in general.
Just like how people who hate religion look at small (but loud) groups like the Westboro Baptist Church as evidence of the unrelenting evil of religion.
I suspect that for the most part, people who came here illegally are afraid to apply for welfare programs because they are too afraid to fill out papers and get caught and sent back to where ever they came from. There certainly is a draw on society, but it might not be as large as people think. Not all illegals are created equally. While some are out committing violent crimes, others have businesses with legal purchased or rented store fronts, and have to have proper insurance and meet other state and city requirements just to stay in business.
When those people get caught and have to leave, well then (like El Huero said), "tough shit." That was the risk you took to set up here illegally. You made a good go at it, but unfortunately we can't allow you to continue your operation here until you obtain legal status. Apply again, and maybe this time around you'll be able to make a better case for yourself as being able to take care of yourself, since you've already done it. Perhaps you've made a good impression on some US citizen business contact and they'll write a letter of recommendation for you or even sponsor you. The bottom line is that you didn't follow the laws and you'll just have to start over and try again.
That is besides the point however. If someone wants to drive a low rider or have a Nike swoop, that's fine by me.
