It's not a lie if you don't actually know any better ... and Barbara Mikulski has always been wrong on so many things, so darned ignorant. that it's hard to say she's lying about anything.

Hattie Caraway also voted against anti-lynching bills, like most of her Southern Dem cohorts. Southern Democrats were frankly some of the most overtly racist folks that ever lived.

68Charger, you're missing the point. It's not a lie unless there's an intent to deceive. In the case where someone is just plain wrong, it's not a lie. Mikulski is so stupid, it's entirely possible she believes the garbage she spews in which case she's just wrong (as usual) and not necessarily lying.
Let's be honest with ourselves here; when (in the last 30 years) has a Democrat cared about facts?
In my experience, they are still exceptionally racist yet not so overt about it.
