Default Helmet cam - Dutch Spec boarding hijacked ship

10 pirates hijacked the vessel, but the crew managed to retreat to a safe-room. So NL MARSOF could carry out an opposed boarding, without any hazzard for the crew. The video is chronological; with the commander explaining where they are: helo, landing on the front, approaching the bridge, arresting 6 pirates on the first deck, another 2 on the back, and the last two just below the bridge. Clever pirates never used their guns.

I would have enjoyed the video more if at the end they had lined up all the priates at the stern, and given them a stern lecture.

Then tied them to something heavy and sent them to the bottom.

The ops had to behave due to the cam.

pretty cool to see a little bit of what goes on during something like that. I would have liked to see more fish bait produced as well, but at least they got them all and the good guys didn't get hurt (or at least what i could tell from the video)

Sloppy work....very unprofessional VBSS. At least the pirates didn't initiate fire or it could have turned into a media nightmare and fuel for those who do not approve of re-taking the ships by force.

    1) roping out of Mh-60 on same side as door gunner= loss of supporting
    fire.
    2) inefficient fast roping techniques
    3) engaging cabin of vesel without cover (sitting in the open and shooting)
    4) No appearent plan on how to get off the top of the conex containers
    5) point man is point, no where else. someone else checks the sides/windows/rooms, etc...
    6) if someone else is handling a problem (ie threat, prisoner, hostage, whatever), let them handle it and stay focused on your job. They are relying on you with their lives to do that.
    7) speed, suprise, and violence of action.....don't have a conversation with the pirates; shoot them, detain them, do something!
    8) when a potential threat is coming down the stairs, keep your gun on him! he's still a threat until searched and detained.
    9) missed coffin corners upon entry into bridge
    10) in confined spaces use your secondary firearm instead of your rifle. (your teammate caught on to this, why didn't you?)

there's a start...all rookie mistakes and lack of proper planning, rehearsals, and training. It would have been a nightmare if they were under fire at any time during this....
