Switching DV plates to different vehicle?

For those with DV plates in Colorado, have you ever switched them over to a different vehicle? Pain to do so or easy process?

I've found a lot of stuff on transferring regular plates over and how to acquire DV plates (already have), but nothing on if there is a specific process for DV plates themselves.

Thanks for any info, personal experiences, etc.

Buddy with DV plates says it's no different than reg plates.

I have the one free registration set and 2 other sets where I pay the annual registration (no fees to enter state parks/wildlife areas). I've switched all 3 sets to other vehicles with 2 different processes...

One set (forget which one) transferred like any other plate. The other 2 sets required me to process the transfer through local DMV, but got passed to the state DV plate office for transfer; just added an extra week.
