    Default Illinois Police Officer Killed during vehicle pursuit

    Police Officer James Brockmeyer was killed in a vehicle crash while pursuing a vehicle on Palestine Road at approximately 10:00 pm.

    His patrol car left the roadway and overturned just south of Union School Road in Randolph County. He became trapped in the wreckage as a result of the crash.

    The vehicle he was pursuing continued to flee and its driver remains at large.

    Officer Brockmeyer had served with the Chester Police Department for only 10 months. He is survived by his parents and sister.

    Eh, that's okay. While I did suggest that, it feels better that each officer gets their own thread, instead of just being another addendum in a larger thread. I make sure to click on each one anyway. When I was searching for his explanation thread and all his pages and pages of threads he's started were listed in one place, it was pretty dramatic. He's been posting these since February and there must be over 50. It's pretty sad.

    R.I.P. fallen officers.

    I think that it is the least that can be done....to honor and recognize those who give the ultimate sacrifice while serving in order to ensure all of our safety and upholding the law.

    I feel that every officer deserves their own thread, at the very least, rather than be a large thread. I feel that it is one of the smallest things that can be done in honor of the service they gave their communities.
