By the time I added the paddle mag conversion and the B&T stock I like, I'd have another $1600 into it. At that price, I could just buy a Zenith which I wouldn't feel bad about replacing parts in the least, and which already comes with the tri-lug barrel. Swapping out all the HK parts feels like buying a brand new Euro sports car, then ripping out the drive train to replace it with American aftermarket parts. I'm sure with enough money it could be made to drive the same, but it doesn't feel like a good investment of my income.
I went through the same train of thought at first about the barrel. I was actually convinced by my girlfriend that I don't need to suppress it. She's lefty and doesn't like shooting the MP5s suppressed, because of blowback, but is in love with shooting them. So I got talked out of replacing the barrel. The paddle is nice but isn't a huge deal to me, though I admit on my other MP5 that's what I always use. In the end you have a German made MP5 which, until recently, has been very hard to get. I love that HK started making these available. It took me almost three years to find my first German made MP5, guess I might be still suck on the mystique of that factor. I'm on a major SMG kick and think these are awesome.

I went to midway usa to pick up a few of the odd ball OEM magazines for the fantastic plastic Glock and Stoner's little fun toy. I am at the some assembly and buying additional parts phase on both projects. I wanted a few of the low cap state allowed styles if I take the toys out to a public range.

It adds to the larger tool bench I got last year. Nice stuff at a great price.

The wife found me this book while we were at Barnes and Noble last night. She makes me proud. It should make for a long and interesting read. I'll probably do it in chunks to not get lost in it. This volume including includes the full texts of:· On Civil War—Benjamin Franklin
    · The Boston Massacre— John Hancock
    · The Declaration of Independence
    · Common Sense—Thomas Paine
    · Articles of Confederation
    · The Federalist Papers—Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay
    · The Constitution of the United States of America
    · The Bill of Rights
    · Farewell Address—George Washington

Drinks gas like it's going out of style, averaging about 14mpg. $30 worth of regular gets me about 4 days of work commute. But it's awesome for hauling stuff like a set of tires

Those look fun! Where do you find those out? I am currently looking at the six different bottles I keep at work so adding some more would be nice.
