    he was great in "big love"

    dies from "complications from surgery"--wonder if it was an infection? no such thing as "routine surgery"--you're taking your life in your hands just being in a hospital these days with MRSA, C-dif, sepsis, etc...

    Yep. Could have been a complicated procedure, or it could have been a problem with anesthesia. Every time I've woken up from surgery, I've found it's great to be alive.

    Post-op stroke after heart surgery. My father, a cardiac patient from age 48-71, had a valve replacement. The er nurse miscounted the sponges, the post-op x-ray revealed a sponge still inside. While undergoing the second surgery he suffered a stroke, lasted 3 months then passed. Things happen, very saddened to hear about Bill Paxton, always enjoyed his roles. Just started a new series, "Training Day", loosely based on the film,
