I know you said Non- Electric however I like a scale that you can zero. This way you're able to put a tray, wax or parchment paper on the scale to minimize cross contamination. Plus it's easier to handle meats, poultry etc from a tray than the scale.

I have one similar to that. Whole top surface is glass, easy to clean. Thin, easy to store. Battery lasts a long time.
