Default Anyone from the Flanders, NJ area?

I am looking at taking a job in that area and have no idea where to begin even looking at for housing. Is anyone from that area that can point me in the right direction? The company is located in Flanders, NJ (Mt. Olive Township). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I used to live in Sparta, NJ. Drove through Flanders numerous times, but it has been about 20 years.

If you can handle the commute, look for a house near Easton, PA. Property taxes in NJ an PA will be one of your first surprises. Daily traffic will just make you numb. If the job is right, it can make up for a lot of things. The job would have to be pretty amazing to get me back to northern Jersey or NYC.

There are several members here who are from the area. Hopefully they can provide some better insight.

Thanks for the info! I am looking at renting. If this works out, it will most likely be a two year contract.

I would not live in Jersey either. Most of the traffic will be heading to NYC in that area. I lived about an hour and half from there in PA for 3 years. I liked the Bethlehem, Allentown area. Sorry I could not help much more than that, but I would compare the rent in Jersey Vs. PA, that area is quite expensive. Both have State taxes and they will get their cut regardless of where you live, plus most townships have a tax on top of that as well.

IF you really wanted to take the job . I'd suggest you bite the bullet, commute wise and find a place in the Delaware Water Gap area. The scenery and off hours things to do are worth living just over the border in PA. It was one of our favorite places to have fun . There's a lot of recreation areas and excellent roads to take a mc ride on.
