Some rice in a permeable bag works too (pillow case, sock, etc.). Cheap. Easy. No power.

I lived on the gulf coast of Texas for 28 years where the humidity was pretty much 100% year round. Never had any rust issues. My solution was to shoot my stuff frequently. I'm going to suggest you shoot a little more often.

^^ That's probably the best idea so far.

Unfortunately, this winter has seen rain or snow almost every day. It's been doing one or the other since November. Record snow and rain amounts all over the panhandle. Avg snowfall for Lewiston in Jan is a little less than 2". This year we got 24". Pretty much the same story for Dec and Feb, too.

I'm glad I read this thread...I forgot someone one this board moves Safes. I need someone to take a look at mine and tell me what the possibility is of it being moved in the basement.

I bought this safe from forum member Twitchyfinger many years ago...maybe 7 or 8, when he had a home in Pine. It's been moved around a lot and spent it's entire life with me in a shop or garage. Finally, it's inside where it belongs.

    Cool.

Working on some millwork the last few days, and tiring quickly of the tedious coping due to the complex contour, I was more envious of the simplicity of yours. Coping those must have been tough.

Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

    Those are awesome!

Coping blows... Especially when I'm not a carpenter.
