Have them as well for internet. Bundled with DISH. Century link is definitely mind numbing stupid. When I discovered service out I went to the web page to check/report outages on my phone. Site was down (or massively over run with users). Went to facebook page and twitter and they are acting like nothing is wrong. Something as simple as we are aware of service problems in this area. Click here to get text/email when it is up so you can reboot your system.

I will be looking at this closely when my contract comes up. I can't believe my only choices are such a poor provider like CenturyLink and the aholes at Comcast who hate everything we hold dear.

I have never encountered a more pathetic service which technically had video on-demand and other services, than Centurylink Prism. Shows not available after air until days or weeks after air, limited on-demand to catch up, pathetic on-demand offerings in general. Guess it was OK for live viewing, but that's not the bar to meet or exceed any longer.

Hi-speed internet has been adequate, when not down. That is the best I can say for it.

Have no opinion on their voice phone service.

I'll take comcast over centurylink any day.

Had centurylink for DSL and phone, along with directv for tv. Internet was pretty poor, I think it was something like 10mb down, and less than 1mb up. I telecommute full time, so the very slow upload speed was killing me. Switched everything over to comcast (internet, phone and tv), and the total bill is less the 2 bills before, more channels, crazy fast internet speeds, and connection has been a much more stable with comcast than my old centurylink dsl.

My internet is with Comcast and it sux balls, but then again, I'm not certain whether its (a) crappy internet, (b) Stooopid Windows 10 (most of my problems date back to that awesome "free upgrade") or (c) an out-of-date cable modem.

Overall I'm as happy with Comcast as I suppose it's possible to be with ones cable company in this day and age.

All I can say is wires and reliability differ from neighborhood to neighborhood.

Newer areas have older cables than old neighborhoods now due to upgrades. So, reliability follows.

Customer service on the other hand, might be questionable from either.

    My 2 cents.

Is this a bad thread to mention I love fiber?

Before this, I had Comcast with an owned modem and I had great service. The modems they provide SUCK! The business modem/router that you HAVE to have (per them, not that you actually would if they were smart) is total pile of sh!t.

If you want static IP's you do, and it blows.

Is Longmont one of the Government internet providers? That's a great competitive advantage! What could go wrong?

Yes, Nextlight is part of the Longmont Municipal utilities. They also provide my electric, water, trash, and recycle service.

Being a utility, they are regulated the same in every way as Comcast, Centurylink, etc. So, in reality, the only competitive advantage that they have is that they own the infrastructure to get fiber to the homes, and it shows in the lower price I pay for a far superior service.
