I have a Key-Mod on an AR pistol that I have. I bought it with the barrel as a kit and that was my only option. I like it pretty good, but I also don't have anything attached to it. If I were to do it again, I'd probably go M-Lok.

I like them both, but I think M-LOK is winning.

Admittedly, I've had fewer slippage problems with M-LOK, though my only issue to date with Keymod has been with the Ruger Precision Rifle's Samson rail. Couldn't get that bipod rail segment to stay still to save my life.

The "Killer App" for Keymod was BCM KMR in magnesium, which was only offered in Keymod. But they're going to offer it (at least in the Alpha/Aluminum version) in M-LOK soon.

M-LOK is quickly becoming the standard and will probably be the new milspec now that Navy Crane has tested both. There isn't anything inherently wrong with Keymod, it's just not as good.

If you looked at the slide show that Navy Crane produced regarding their Keymod vs M Loc testing, it was a completely ridiculous "test". It had all the rigor and statistical validity of a five year old destructively testing toys. That said, it may be that M Loc is mechanically stronger and better at returning to point of aim than Keymod. But Navy Crane's "testing" did nothing to prove it.

I love my two BCM KMR's (one mag, one aluminum), I also have two other Keymod uppers and one M-LOK so Keymod is winning in my house. To switch everything to M-LOK would be several hundred dollars, so not anytime soon, especially when Keymod works just fine. Maybe if BCM does make the M-LOK KMR then I would consider, I love my BCM setups.

I'd give you that it was a relatively small sample size but it subjected the hand guards to the same measured, repeatable test with quantifiable results. What didn't you like about it?

You can't be a Magpul fanboy without M-Lok. That's my reasoning at least.

    Thanks, I'll stick to Picatinny.
I am not excited about either one, I had a bipod attachment, M-LOK original from Magpul, installed it following all instructions to the T.
    Kept coming loose.
