Is there any issue with using green tip ammo or is that a no no? Don't want to ruin any steel targets!
Sorry but, bi-metal, steel-core or any other type of "penetrator" type ammunition is prohibited. These would ding and even punch through our steel targets.
Here is a copy of the match call email that we just sent out via the ECOUSPA Google Group:

Shooters,
This coming Saturday, March 3, 2018 the Colorado Rifle Club will be hosting its first Action Rifle match of the year. As in the past, plan on arriving at the range at 7:00am to help with the setup. If we get a lot of help, we will call for a shooter’s meeting at 9:00am and begin shooting shortly after that. The match fee is still $20 ($15 if you help with the setup).
You will need approximately 135 to 150 rounds of ammunition but I suggest you bring 200 just to make sure you have enough for makeup shots, etc. Speaking of ammunition, remember that armor-piercing, incendiary and all type of “penetrator” type ammunition if strictly prohibited. That means no M855, steel-core, bi-metal or any similar type of ammo.
In the interest of safety, our new Match Director, Matthew H. has implemented a few changes to the format of this event. For example, the use of a chamber flag will be required! Please take a moment to read the attachments that accompany this email to learn about these changes and, if you have any questions that are not answered there, you can ask him directly at this email address: mhess.2011@gmail.com
You can register at the following link (the match fee will be collected on match day): https://practiscore.com/crc-action-r...-2018/register
See you all on Saturday morning!

Ok thanks, wasn't sure if green tipped was steel or what it was. I don't have a empty chamber indicator. Is there something around the house or at a local store I could use as one until I get a real one?
Thanks guys! Sorry for all the questions, just don't want to get there and not be able to shoot or get DQ'd.
I think a gun bag for the rifle is really handy to bag the rifle when moving from stage to stage. We don't have to have one, but it makes the match easier.
Cy- I didn't double register, the boy is coming out too.
I'll stop buying black rifles when my wife stops buying black shoes.
