So I sold 3 firearms today at an LGS and traded for 1 with cash back to me. These items had been listed here previously and weren’t moving so I decided to see what I could get on trade. I have sold to this LGS without issues in the past and they were competitive on trade previously. Two of the items were handguns and included no mags because they are pre 2013 17rd. I still have other guns that take the mags. I told this to “sales person A” at the store. When negotiating price, he said specifically that he was paying less for the handguns because they had no mags and he would have to supply them with compliant 15rd mags. “Sales person B” that is normally around the store and I think is the owner is not around. Everything else goes smooth, background check, sign bill of sale, and I leave with a new gun and check.

Unfortunately, I forgot my ID from the transfer. I call and get Sales Person A, he apologizes that he didn’t give it back during the transfer and says it will be in the register.

Later that day, I stop back for my ID. Sales person A is gone. Sales person B is the only one there. I ask for my license. Sales person B ignores the license request and tells me I need to bring two mags in for each handgun I sold to them. I say that wasn’t the deal. Sales person B then goes on to explain how I tricked sales person A and made him think the guns had mags with them. I got slightly confused on whether he was saying I took them when I left or he was accusing me of lying during negotiating. Either way, I had swindled them and needed to bring them back/in immediately. I said that wasn’t happening and I wanted my license. He then said the sale was off and I needed to bring him cash and the gun I bought back. I asked when sales person A would be in and I said I would come back then. He tells me when A will be in and then just stares. I ask for my license again, no response initially, just a staring contest. Then he finally hands me back my license. I leave.

I plan on going back and asking sales person A what is going on. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I am assuming sales person B feels he got burned on the trade, but it wasn’t a good deal by any means. Just ok.

Anyone experience something like this? Thoughts?
Salesperson B needs to take customer service classes before working at $9.75/hr job again.
Oh yeah, there are lots of idiots who have 500k+ job who are as stupid too.

I'd go back and ask for the manager or owner. Screw A and B.

I would also like to know what shop it was.

I think we should schedule the Meet and Great at this shop, during the time that you go back to discuss this situation.

If they ask any questions, simply respond that it is a new Yelp Live pilot program that is being tested in local markets.

I was hoping so. I had to wait to post again and figured someone would sneak in under the 30 second limit.
