    Default Minor Projects...

The SL has been in the wife's family since 71, they bought is used with 1,000 or so miles on it. It was in PA and needed lots of body work due to rust, we got that done 25 years ago and now it needs an interior. The factory closed in 71 to gear up for the 73 models, so only 900 of the 71's were built. It's equipped with the California "rear jump seat" and air conditioning that was a dealer installed item but MB branded.

The 2007 Z06 vette was purchased with an electrical problem for pennies on the dollar. It's fixed now and I'm working on heads/cam for it. It dynos at 540 crank HP currently, I hope to get it to 650 crank HP with heads/porting/cam.

The 71' has been an ongoing project and never seems to end, but it's been a fun one. It's amazing how cheap some parts can be and how stupid expensive others are. I've given up trying to predict. As an example I needed a fuel pump, the best we could find was $2600 new so I waited and found a reconditioned one for $600. As it worked out it was NOS in the original box so it was worth the wait. I also needed the antenna, $10 plus freight. Go figure.

In recent years, MB Pagodas have gone through the roof in value, so once you have it done it should be worth the investment.
