What do you catch when you use fission bombs?

Any kind of cancer you can dream of. Usually you get an immune system disorder and a common cold kills you. Or a bacteria just eats you alive. Neutron bombs are the best, just kills people. Oil field infrastructure is basically undamaged. Even leaves military artillery like a tank intact. Just kills the men inside. Unless your bunker is lead lined, you die. All your cells just hemorrhage. Won't be any maggots, they die too.

Did we ever develop any "enhanced" neutron bombs?
I remember Jimmy Carter put the kibosh on them; did Reagan start development again?
Or is everything just "simulated" to work?

Default Late 70's Europe nuclear posture

We had them to stop Russian tanks from taking the Saudi oil fields. The taught doctrine was that we were there to stop the Russians from coming through the Fulda gap. I was an enlisted troop, but they put an Army Major in the room next to mine. His job was to make sure we did not bomb the US Army. It was the 70's Cold War! The F-111's we had, did have some gun pods available. I never seen them flown around. Base is closed now. F-111 has been retired. The F-16 was brand new and we never saw one over there. More info in the video below. I'm sure the F-22 would able to far exceed the F-111.

The Vulcan fire hit one F16 and destroyed it. A second was also heavily damaged from the resulting fire. So three more and the Belgian mechanic is an Ace.
