Chains, I was the only one, but I was a lot more sure footed than the other guys. Also, it prevented me from going into town.
It was either a mostly dry South facing slope, or 6" of snow and everything frozen.
Camp fire looks nice, but it was so difficult to keep going it was almost more hassle than it was worth.
I had an inflatable pad (that I got from here), and a Thermarest Z-lite pad. I slept in a Golight 3-season down bag (blue) and then a Nebo 0 degree bag (brown) draped on top. That Nebo bag is so large that it takes up the entire back seat of my Amigo.
