Dies for 6.5CM?

Contemplating loading for the 6.5. I have been using rcbs for most of my dies. Is RCBS for 6.5 ok, or is Hornady better? Looking for a good basic set, not bench reat precision.

I'm a dillon and RCBS guy. For 6.5 it's hornady. Please read the set up instructions. If not you'll be crushing cases as it's set up to seat and crimp as is.

Everyone has their favorite and it’s very subjective. I don’t have any experience with RCBS or Hornady dies, but I have had great success with Redding and Forster dies for my single stage presses. Dillon dies are in my 550.

If you're not looking for a bench rest set, just go with one of the common names (hornady, rcbs, lee) and make ammo.

In the grand scheme of things they are all going to be roughly the same price, quality, and finish.

Get Forster dies. Send a fired case to them, have them hone the neck out 2/1000 and possibly cut some length off the base. That what I got for my best friend when he started reloading.

I disagree. If you want good ammo, buy good dies. A good die will last almost forever. Why go cheap and replace it later?

My point was that across the "run of the mill dies" (Hornady, RCBS, Lee, Lyman, etc... all the ~$40 sets) there's really no difference.

Redding/Forster rifle dies are more, better, and imo worth every penny.
