Anyway, I just switched over to try this card out, so we'll see how it goes.

If you ever tow a trailer, the rear camera can give you a pretty useful view of what's going on back there.

In the Yukon, I have to put it in reverse to see the back-up cam - that would make it real interesting to check on the towed load.

The rear camera defaults to the same, but a few button presses and you can check while driving. I was thinking more along the lines of backing and having a better view if needed. It's not a good enough reason to buy a dash cam on it's own, but might be worth the upgrade if one is already considering.

    Is their desktop software crippled?

As in, can you load all the clips and it will sequence them, or is there a limit?

I'm using Registrator Viewer but the Google maps API is busted again and the dev is deceased.

The software that came with the mini is crippled. If you want to stitch together clips, you have to buy the premium version.

I use a Kenwood DRV-N520, but in order to use it you'll need a Kenwood head unit, but so far it has been great.

Great so far. I replaced all the cards in the cams with the high endurance cards. No issues with the errors so far.

I did have one of the cams have this weird issue cycling off and on when the car turned off. I've read that it's due to a bad battery and I have a couple backup batteries that I ordered for pretty cheap. Just need to take the time to replace the battery one of these days. I ordered a backup camera to keep as a spare in case I run into that again with any of them. SUpposed to be pretty easy to remove and replace teh battery based on a video I saw.

I really liked the Kdlinks X1...until the battery died. Got a good deal on a used one off eBay. Once the battery dies the unit just cycles on and off, when connected to power. Thought about replacing the battery but having zero luck finding one. Liking the capacitors for longevity.

Going down the dual cam route next time. These two look interesting.
