Honestly, w/ the online ability of OneDrive Office, and the wealth of knowledge in the Linux forums, I see no need to run Windows anymore at home. I can always spin up a VM if I need it. I like being able to accept/deny various updates. I can run scripts easily (for example, I have a script which uses a program to scrub metadata from photos), etc.
We're so far beyond the days of needing to be a complete nerd to use Linux effectively, I don't know why anyone uses Windows at home aside from ignorance of the ease of use for most cases.
