We used Home to Heaven. They were fabulous. Very caring, gentle. One shot to relax and one to send them on their way. No need to take them anywhere and make them more uncomfortable Very peaceful all in our living room. We opted to have the ashes returned, but you don't have to.

Sorry to hear about your pup. I hate these threads. The silver lining is they always force us to remember some of the good times we had with our friends.

We had a friend who was a vet who always helped us out. As far as cremation, it may sound odd but the funeral home in Marshdale (between Evergreen and Conifer) cremates pets. Your pet will receive pretty much the same standard of care as a person would during the process. It was always important to us to get the cremains of our dogs returned. Some places do bulk cremations and you just get a portion of the cremains. We never liked that. We were even allowed to inspect and place the pet in the very clean cremation chamber. The pet is also placed with a numbered metal disk that is assigned by their tracking system. Price is very reasonable and is by weight. It's been a while since we've used them so I don't recall what the exact price was.

I know it's a ways for you but it's a great service if you're so inclined:

Caring Pathways for us too. Home to Heaven doesn't come as far south as Parker.

And I'm starting to think there's someting to that stuff about RoundUp, pesticides, fertilizers, Weed-B-Gon, etc. We lost our first dog in August to kidney failure and a lot of weird skin shit, and our second dog has an oral tumor the size of a golf ball. I ain't NEVER putting no more shit in our back yard, and not getting another dog until that crap's had a couple years to fade away.
There's a lot more of us ugly mf'ers out here than there are of you pretty people!

When I had to take my dog to the vet to be put down (had bone cancer as well) my vet took care of all the services/cremation for me.

as for the round up thing.. I never used any chemicals on my lawn and my dog got bone cancer, I had a rottweiler and bone cancer is actually one of the number one killers of rotts and other large dogs for that matter. Back in the day in my early twenties I used to be licensed to spray lawns in Minnesota which required me to take a pretty extensive test on using herbicides and pesticides with the state in order to be licensed. Basically round up and other broadleaf killers are very toxic.. while wet. The worse place you can get it is on your inner thighs, that part of your body will absofb it like a sponge. You could actually drink the stuff without issue as your stomach/gut lining will not absorb the chemical in to your system other than the petroleum products that are used as the carrier would probably make you instantly hurl your guts out. Once the broadleaf killer/round up has dried on the surface of the grass the part that is toxic to animals/humans has evaporated off in to the atmosphere.

basically, no one or animal should be near the grass while its still wet after spraying.. after dry its no big deal. Thats why we had toput the signs in the yard after spraying.

Home for Heaven(referred by Jer) was who we contacted last year for Buddy. They don't come out this far but referred us to an outfit out of Denver who would.

Guy was great, well worth the extra few dollars. Would recommend both outfits. Mrs bo is looking for business card for outfit we used.

Well we took him to CSU for further testing and diagnosis and the outlook was very poor so we had to make the very tough decision.

Going to miss you Bullet. Go get those birds!
