I don't want to derail the thread too much, but my favorite boat story was my friends cruising around on a lake and everyone was waving at them. They were a bit taken aback by how aggressively friendly everyone was, until they realized that not properly winterizing the boat means cruising around the lake with the motor on fire the next spring. I bought a kayak.

From having that shallow pool, my only advice is get one deep enough so it's not boring.

PSA, don't turn a truck into a pool without doing math (weight). I know nobody here is seriously suggesting that, just if other readers come across it, it's like putting a 600 lbs woman on a kids tricycle.
